Hamilton-Jacobi Equations and Two-Person Zero-Sum Differential Games with Unbounded Controls

چکیده
A two-person zero-sum differential game with unbounded controls is considered. Under proper coer-civity conditions, the upper and lower value functions are characterized as the unique viscosity solutions to the corresponding upper and lower Hamilton–Jacobi–Isaacs equations, respectively. Consequently, when the Isaacs' condition is satisfied, the upper and lower value functions coincide, leading to the existence of the value function of the differential game. Due to the unboundedness of the controls, the corresponding upper and lower Hamiltonians grow super linearly in the gradient of the upper and lower value functions, respectively. A uniqueness theorem of viscosity solution to Hamilton–Jacobi equations involving such kind of Hamiltonian is proved, without relying on the convexity/concavity of the Hamil-tonian. Also, it is shown that the assumed coercivity conditions guaranteeing the finiteness of the upper and lower value functions are sharp in some sense.

A Probabilistic Representation for the Value of Zero-Sum Differential Games with Incomplete Information on Both Sides
We prove that for a class of zero-sum differential games with incomplete information on both sides, the value admits a probabilistic representation as the value of a zero-sum stochastic differential game with complete information, where both players control a continuous martingale. A similar representation as a control problem over discontinuous martingales was known for games with incomplete i...
متن کاملOn Differential Games for Infinite-dimensional Systems with Nonlinear, Unbounded Operators
We consider a two-player, zero-sum diierential game governed by an abstract nonlinear diierential equation of accretive type in an innnite dimensional space. We prove that the value function of the game is the unique viscosity solution of the corresponding Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaacs equation in the sense of Crandall-Lions 12]. We also discuss some properties of this notion of solution.
متن کاملA Weak Dynamic Programming Principle for Zero-Sum Stochastic Differential Games with Unbounded Controls
We analyze a zero-sum stochastic differential game between two competing players who can choose unbounded controls. The payoffs of the game are defined through backward stochastic differential equations. We prove that each player’s priority value satisfies a weak dynamic programming principle and thus solves the associated fully non-linear partial differential equation in the viscosity sense.
متن کاملA TRANSITION FROM TWO-PERSON ZERO-SUM GAMES TO COOPERATIVE GAMES WITH FUZZY PAYOFFS
In this paper, we deal with games with fuzzy payoffs. We proved that players who are playing a zero-sum game with fuzzy payoffs against Nature are able to increase their joint payoff, and hence their individual payoffs by cooperating. It is shown that, a cooperative game with the fuzzy characteristic function can be constructed via the optimal game values of the zero-sum games with fuzzy payoff...
متن کاملMarkov games with frequent actions and incomplete information
We study a two-player, zero-sum, stochastic game with incomplete information on one side in which the players are allowed to play more and more frequently. The informed player observes the realization of a Markov chain on which the payoffs depend, while the non-informed player only observes his opponent’s actions. We show the existence of a limit value as the time span between two consecutive s...
